Listen now | We’ve probably all heard the term “red flags” when it comes to recognizing narcissists and abusers, but many people are unaware of how to recognize those red flags when they see them. This is complicated by the fact that our culture tends to value certain qualities and traits that should actually be red flags. Although an expert in certain subject matters should have confidence in their knowledge and expertise, there is a fine line between confidence and hubris or self-aggrandizement.
Awesome! Thanks so much for the link! A lot of the blogs Sheila wrote about L&R didn’t make it from her old website to this one, so thanks for the link. This actually touches on something I’m going to cover next week!
You may end up addressing this in a future episode but I just had to mention it. You say in the podcast that Eggerichs came up with his theory about love and respect, and then found research to support it. You may already know this, but the research he found was ONE question on a survey done by Shaunti Feldhahn. There are SO many problems with this survey question (the way it was phrased/asked, that they only asked men, etc). Sheila Gregoire has gone into a bunch of the issues in a couple blog posts (one of which is a summary of a podcast episode.) Feel free to take a look/listen if you’re interested.
Thank you so much Sarah! Yes, I am very interested in what Sheila has to say and I think she is so much healthier a resource than Emerson Eggerichs. She actually does the research he should have done but didn't. I'm trying not to cover the same stuff Sheila did, which isn't hard because there are so many issues with this book there are plenty to go around! Thank you so much for listening!

I'm trying to remedy that! They should be live soon. :)
Awesome, I would love to read them!
I’m really enjoying your podcast!
